About PES - Personalized Educational Services, Inc. Barton Charlip realized the need for a more personalized approach to educational services. In 1996 Barton began Personalized Educational Services, Inc., also known as PES. He developed a personalized tutoring program. Through word of mouth, the tutoring service at PES grew rapidly. Barton brought onboard a number of teachers to work with him. His philosophy of personalized service was key in his criteria for selecting teachers and staff. He wanted to ensure that PES's programs were tailored to each student's individual needs and that his staff worked together to provide this specialized service. As a result, PES has a team of degreed professionals, including specialists in psychology for their special needs students. Shortly after the start of the tutoring program, Barton developed a personalized test preparation program. Venturing away from the traditional classroom test preparation courses, PES offered a one-on-one program personalized for the needs of each student. This proved to be a very successful program. As a result, PES students have scored over and above their expectation. PES expanded to meet the needs of the college-bound high school student. Barton and his staff diligently worked on creating a college guidance program. Keeping with the initial goal of the company, the College Guidance Program offers a unique personalized service to assist high school students down the path toward college acceptance. It has been a very rewarding journey for Barton and the PES team to have reached these milestones. PES will always remain the "personalized" company it was created to be.
